About

Join us for a one-night Aim Higher with Aspire Clinic on Tuesday, January 6th from 5:15-7:00 PM. Skaters will participate in on-ice and off-ice classes and we'll also have an informational meeting for parents on our new Aspire program that we'll kick off later in January! Open to all GEFSC and GEFSC Learn to Skate members in Basic 4 through Aspire 3 (loop jump). Adult skaters are welcome, too!

What is Aspire?

Aspire is a new program for GEFSC that helps transition skaters from Learn to Skate to higher levels of competitive

training. Aspire champions four important pillars for successful skater development:

  • Group Instruction – Social, economical and fun

  • Off Ice Training – Proper warm up and cool down

  • Practice – Key to improving in skating and in life

  • Education – Information for parents and skaters

Clinic Schedule for Skaters:

5:15: Skaters should be checked in and ready to go! Wear tennis shoes!

5:20 – 5:35: Guided Dynamic Off Ice Warm-Up

5:45 to 6:45: Group Lessons: On Ice- Specialty Areas (40 min.); Guided Practice (20 min.)*

6:50 – 7:00: Guided Off Ice Cool Down

*For the on ice portion of this event, skaters will be organized into small groups. Each group will visit two different

classes (20 min. each) and one guided practice area (20 min.). Aspire group classes supplement fundamental skill

development that is done in basic skills class or a private lesson by emphasizing a particular, specialized and fun area of

development.

Clinic Schedule for Parents:

6:00 – 6:30: Parent Education: What is Aspire? How does it fit into the USFS and GEFSC structure?

We hope you'll join us to learn what Aspire is all about! Please reach out to Grace Myer at learntoskate@gefsc.com with any questions. Thank you!
