About

This 8-week Learn to Skate session will be March 11 - April 29, 2025.  Classes are every Tuesday between 5:30 and 6:30 PM. Skaters will have 30 minutes of class instruction and 15 minutes of practice time within that hour - The exact schedule for each class level will be announced at the closing of registrations.

Be sure to purchase both your class and the Seasonal Membership if you have not purchased either the Seasonal Membership or another GEFSC membership for the July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 membership year.

Class Levels:

Snowplow (Ages 3-5): It's all about fun!  Get your skater on the ice by introducing them to the basics.  Our snowplow levels (1-4) get them moving by allowing them to feel comfortable on the ice.

Basic Skills (Age 6+): Our basic skills classes get your skater comfortable with moving across the ice!  Upon completing the 6 levels your skater will master skills necessary to succeed in hockey or figure skating!

Pre-Free Skate/Free Skate:  This class is for skaters who have accomplished the Basic 1-6 curriculum.  This class will transition  your skater from the basic skills to the more advanced within the Learn to Skate structure.

Teen/Adult: This class is for teens and adults of all skating levels.

Booster Lessons:

These supplemental lessons provide one-on-one instruction to refine skills in your level for Snowplow Sam, Basic Skills, Pre-Freeskate, and Hockey Skills skaters. Booster Lessons are a 15-minute lesson held on our Tuesday evening Learn to Skate ice between 5:30-6:30. Skaters will register for a specific date and time slot for their lesson. Booster lessons may be rescheduled with 48 hours advance notice if a different lesson slot is available.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Since your registration fills one of a limited number of spots that then cannot be filled by another skater, we are unable to offer any refunds once the session begins.

Important Notes:

  • Parent/chaperones may view class from the bleachers only.  Parents will not be permitted to sit in the players boxes.

  • GEFSC Learn to Skate is required to uphold all facility regulations.

  • Learn to Skate will be cancelled if EVSC school is cancelled. Due to sessions planned for the full year, there will be no make up dates or refunds.
