Required for All Show Participants: Primary Numbers
Primary Numbers:
By signing up for a Primary Number, you are signing up to participate in the show overall. Primary Numbers are your main show program and will be a solo, duet/trio, or group number with skaters around your same level, depending on your level eligibility. This cost includes your Primary Number participation and costume and your overall show participation.
Primary Number Practice Schedule
Primary Numbers will be assigned a 30-45 minute practice time on Saturdays in the 11 AM - 12:45 PM time frame. Saturday practices begin on October 17th and continue until the show. There will be no practice on November 7th. Soloists may learn their programs in private lessons. All show participants will also attend the 2 big rehearsals and 2 show performances as detailed below.
What will my Primary Number be?
After registration has closed, the show director and coaches will meet to determine the best groupings of skaters and the best coaches and music for those numbers based on skaters' abilities and what will make the best possible show overall. Most skaters will be placed in a group with other skaters around their level. Skaters who can perform an axel jump or above will be considered for duets/trios or solos. More information by level available here (link chart).
Adult Skater Details
Primary Numbers: We welcome our adult skaters to participate in the show! The Adult Number is our adults-only group number in the show - Most adult skaters will use this as their required primary number! For adults who meet the duet/trio or solo requirements, please reach out to Grace about your options.
Family Number: Each family must include at least 1 adult and 1 person who is signed up for a Primary Number. As an adult skater, you may be both, and are welcome to invite a significant other/parent/children/sibling to participate with you. Please review Family Number details below for more information.
Other Specialty Numbers: Adults who meet the eligibility requirements for any Specialty Number are welcome to participate, in addition to a required Primary Number.
Optional Add-On Numbers: Specialty Numbers
Specialty Numbers:
We are excited to offer several optional add-on numbers that skaters can join in addition to their Primary Number. If you're excited for a chance to shine in more than one place in the show, these are for you! Each number has a different practice schedule and different eligibility requirements to participate - Please review the details below.
Important Note for Skaters Age 11 & Younger
To help us provide younger skaters with adequate supervision and assistance changing during the show, while also complying with SkateSafe policies, all skaters age 11 & under who will need to change during the show will be required to purchase a specific nude-colored leotard to wear underneath their costumes. We will provide the link to purchase your leotard ($30-35 price range) to all skaters 11 & under who sign up for more than 1 show number (Primary + 1 or more Specialty).
This easy chart also lays out your options by skater level!

Tryouts for Special Parts & Ensemble
Skaters (level) & Up | Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00-12:15
This year's theme lends itself to some special acting and skating parts throughout the show. Skaters who have passed the Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills Test can sign up to show off their skills for the panel of coaches on Saturday, October 3rd! This will assist the coaches in selecting skaters for specific roles that may involve: step-out solos, duets and trios, special roles within groups/duets/trios, special roles during transitions between numbers.
Tryout participants will also be cast in the ensemble, regardless of whether or not they receive another special part. Skaters attending tryouts should be willing and able to attend Sunday evening show practices.
Ensemble
Skaters who participate in tryouts will be cast in the ensemble, regardless of whether or not they receive another special part. The Ensemble will perform a fun, up-beat large group number in the show! Some ensemble skaters may also be asked to be part of transitions or in the background of other numbers, as needed to tell our story. Your Tryout Fee covers the cost of your tryout and the cost of participating in the ensemble. Ensemble practices will be during our Sunday evening ice time.
Tryout Format
Participating skaters will receive a short music cut on Monday, September 28th and will make up their own program to this music to perform at the tryout that Saturday. In the interest of fairness, skaters may not request or receive help from coaches. If time allows, we may have skaters learn and perform a few 8 counts as a group. Skaters can wear normal practice clothes.
